Nelly Korda and Haeran Ryu have made golf history during the 2026 LPGA season. For the first time ever in both men’s and women’s professional golf, two different players have secured two major championship titles in the exact same calendar year, with one major still remaining on the schedule.

Korda secured her two major victories early in the season. After ending a winless streak in 2025, she captured the Chevron Championship in April by five strokes. She then claimed a one-shot victory at the U.S. Women’s Open, bringing her career major count to four and cementing her dominance.

Ryu quickly caught up, despite missing the U.S. Women’s Open due to a back procedure. She claimed the KPMG Women’s PGA Championship with a historic comeback. Just two weeks later, she won the Amundi Evian Championship, highlighted by a record-breaking third-round score of 60, the lowest in major history.

These remarkable performances have intensified the Rolex ANNIKA Major Award race. Korda currently holds a narrow lead with 126 points compared to Ryu’s 120. While both have two major wins, Korda’s top-ten finish at the KPMG event provided the slight point advantage in this fiercely competitive season.
