Emma Raducanu’s performance has notably improved since adding Mark Petchey to her coaching team. Her serve, which was a problem earlier in the season, has seen significant progress, especially following her participation in the Miami Open.

Raducanu’s serve motion has returned to a more natural, flowing rhythm after working with Petchey. Colin Fleming, a former top 20 doubles player, observed the positive impact of this change, enhancing Raducanu’s game. Her performance in Miami and Madrid demonstrated this improvement.

Although Raducanu suffered an early loss in Madrid, she was encouraged by her clay-court play. Fleming suggested her performance on an unfamiliar surface was a positive sign, and with continued work, she can achieve strong results in the upcoming grass-court season.

Despite admitting discomfort on clay, Raducanu remains optimistic about her development. She recognizes the challenges but is focused on improving her movement and balance, with plans to continue honing her skills during the WTA 1000 event in Rome and beyond.
