Emma Raducanu is facing a potential drop in the WTA rankings after opting to take a break from competitive tennis. Despite a strong showing at the Miami Open, her withdrawal from recent tournaments casts uncertainty on her return.

She has pulled out of the Billie Jean King Cup and the WTA 250 Open de Rouen, raising questions about her fitness and future schedule. There are also doubts about her participation in the Madrid Open, a key clay-court event next month.

This decision could see Raducanu lose crucial ranking points, including 108 from Stuttgart and 10 from Madrid last year. As a result, she risks slipping outside the WTA top 50 rankings once again.

While her ranking may decline, Raducanu prioritizes her health over points. Experts suggest the mental and physical toll of competing under intense scrutiny may be influencing her time away from the sport.
