Jordan Spieth is set to compete in the 2025 Genesis Invitational despite missing the cut, thanks to a sponsor exemption. The 31-year-old golfer was previously disqualified from the 2024 edition for signing an incorrect scorecard, adding to the controversy surrounding his inclusion.

Spieth had a lackluster 2024 season, finishing 80th in the FedEx Cup rankings and failing to qualify for Signature events. With only two top-10 finishes in 22 events, his exemption has sparked debate, as many believe these spots should go to up-and-coming players rather than established professionals.

Despite the backlash, Spieth’s presence is expected to boost viewership for the PGA Tour, which has struggled with ratings. His 13 PGA Tour victories and three major titles make him a valuable draw for sponsors. Alongside Spieth, Rickie Fowler, Gary Woodland, and Justin Rose have also received exemptions for the event.
