Karl Vilips, the first-ever brand ambassador for Tiger Woods’ Sun Day Red, has earned a place in the 2025 Cognizant Classic. The Australian golfer made his PGA Tour debut at the Mexico Open and will now compete in the prestigious event from February 27 to March 2. Originally, Tyler McCumber was set to play but withdrew, allowing Vilips to join a strong field featuring stars like Billy Horschel, Brian Harman, Shane Lowry, and Jordan Spieth.

Tiger Woods praised Vilips for his exceptional talent and work ethic, stating that the young golfer embodies the values of Sun Day Red. Vilips, who had a successful junior career and impressed on the Korn Ferry Tour, secured his PGA Tour card before officially debuting. Woods expressed confidence in Vilips’ future, calling him a rising star with the potential to make a significant impact on the tour.

Currently, Vilips is competing at the Mexico Open, where he struggled in the first and third rounds but bounced back in the second. Despite challenges on the greens, he remains determined as he prepares for the Cognizant Classic. Meanwhile, Woods, a 15-time Major champion, is expected to skip both the Cognizant Classic and the upcoming TGL event, according to reports.
