Nelly Korda, a world-renowned golfer, has long been an advocate for faster play. Her efforts, along with those of her peers, have resulted in the LPGA Tour’s new ‘pace of play’ policy aimed at reducing delays during tournaments.
The policy introduces penalties for slow play, including fines and stroke penalties. Key changes include the elimination of the 10-second allowance for the first player on par 4s and 5s, while it remains for approach shots and putts.
These adjustments, effective from the Ford Championship in March, reflect Korda’s view that stricter rules will improve the fan experience. Golf’s pace of play has been a growing concern, with Korda stressing the importance of maintaining viewer engagement.
