With Rory McIlroy completing his career grand slam at the Masters, attention now turns to Jordan Spieth. Spieth, competing at the Truist Championship this week, has a chance to make history at next week’s PGA Championship — the only major missing from his résumé.

Spieth has come close before, notably finishing second in 2015 and third in 2019. He’s already won the Masters, U.S. Open, and British Open. While his last major came in 2017, he remains a proven competitor on golf’s biggest stages.

Unlike McIlroy, who faced Augusta annually, Spieth’s challenge shifts venues each year. That adds complexity to his pursuit, but also fresh opportunity. This time, Quail Hollow sets the stage — and the spotlight burns bright.

Spieth hasn’t dominated lately, but he’s shown consistency this season. With just one missed cut and a top-five finish last week, he enters with momentum. Whether it’s enough to seize the elusive grand slam remains the sport’s biggest question.
