Rory McIlroy Claims Victory at the 2025 AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am
The AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am served as the season opener for PGA Tour stars Rory McIlroy, Scottie Scheffler, and Jordan Spieth, each experiencing different outcomes.

McIlroy secured the win with a final-round 66, finishing two strokes ahead of fellow Irishman Shane Lowry. His strong finish ensured his first PGA Tour victory of 2025.

Scheffler’s Return and Spieth’s Struggles

World No. 1 Scottie Scheffler, returning from offseason hand surgery due to a kitchen accident, put in a steady performance throughout the tournament. He ended in a tie for 8th place, finishing with a final-round 67.

Reflecting on his start to the season, Scheffler acknowledged that adjusting to tournament play after the break was a challenge. “Competitive golf always feels different from playing at home, so I prepared for some ups and downs,” he said.

Meanwhile, Jordan Spieth also made his season debut following wrist surgery last August. His tournament was inconsistent, with a third-round 79 that included a disastrous nine on the par-5 18th hole. Despite the setback, he bounced back with a bogey-free 69 in the final round, finishing tied for 69th place.

Discussing his wrist issues, Spieth admitted that certain shots aggravated the injury. “I’ve had moments where my wrist felt tight, especially when attempting certain shots,” he explained. He remains optimistic that playing through the discomfort will help his recovery.

McIlroy’s Victory Sets the Tone for 2025

With his win at Pebble Beach, McIlroy adds another title to his career and kicks off his season on a high note. The Northern Irishman’s performance will likely capture the attention of fellow greats like Tiger Woods and Phil Mickelson as the season progresses.
