Charley Hull once admitted feeling envious of her fellow LPGA players after missing the 2020 ANA Inspiration, now the Chevron Championship. Testing positive for COVID-19, she was forced to withdraw and spend ten days in hotel quarantine while others competed.

In 2021, Hull returned to the event and reflected on her experience during a pre-tournament press conference. She confessed to only watching the final hole of the 2020 tournament, as seeing others play was too painful. She described her quarantine as “torture,” struggling with boredom due to her active personality.

Despite the setback, Hull finished tied for 14th in the 2021 Chevron Championship. While she has secured seven professional victories, including four on the Ladies European Tour, she is still chasing her first Major title. Her closest finishes include runner-up spots at the 2016 Chevron Championship, 2023 Women’s British Open, and 2023 U.S. Women’s Open.
