Swiss skier Lara Gut-Behrami claimed her first World Cup win of the season, mastering the challenging Kandahar super-G course in Germany. Her victory marked her 46th career win, securing a shared fifth place on the all-time female winners list. Lindsey Vonn, returning from retirement with a new titanium knee, placed 13th after struggling in previous races.

Gut-Behrami’s win came after a slow start to the season, during which she regained confidence and rhythm. She finished 0.35 seconds ahead of Norway’s Kajsa Vickhoff Lie, with Italy’s Federica Brignone taking third. Notably, the Italian team dominated, placing four racers in the top six, including Sofia Goggia and Marta Bassino.

The race was briefly delayed due to weather conditions, but Gut-Behrami’s performance proved she remains a top contender. The upcoming world championships in Austria will test her form further. Meanwhile, Vonn, eyeing retirement after the 2026 Olympics, continues to inspire with her resilience and competitive spirit.
