Jordan Spieth delivered a brilliant 9-under 62 at the 2025 CJ Cup Byron Nelson but still fell short of Scottie Scheffler’s dominant 31-under-par victory. The win marked Scheffler’s first PGA Tour title of the year and matched Justin Thomas’ course record.

After the tournament, Spieth humbly acknowledged Scheffler’s superiority, reflecting on how he once held the upper hand. Scheffler, now world No. 1 with 14 PGA Tour wins, responded graciously, saying he’d “take it easy” on Spieth rather than gloat over his triumph.

Scheffler recalled watching Spieth play as a teenager, crediting those moments as inspiration. Despite turning pro six years apart, both golfers built impressive careers. Now, Scheffler holds more titles, arguably making him Dallas’ top golfing talent.
