Rory McIlroy couldn’t resist making a lighthearted joke about Scottie Scheffler’s Christmas injury as the World No. 1 prepared for his 2025 PGA Tour debut. After hearing that Scheffler hurt his hand while cooking, McIlroy quipped, “I think he made enough money to hire a chef.”

Scheffler’s 2024 season was one of the most dominant in recent history, earning nearly $60 million and securing nine wins, including another Masters title and Olympic gold. McIlroy praised his consistency, noting how rare it is to see a golfer play so many bogey-free rounds.

The two stars will kick off their seasons at the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am, generating excitement among golf fans. McIlroy emphasized Scheffler’s near-flawless game, predicting that if he continues this form, he could dominate golf much like Tiger Woods did in the 2000s.

Since his first PGA Tour win in 2022, Scheffler has amassed 13 titles, while McIlroy has claimed six PGA victories and four on the DP World Tour. With both players back in action, the stage is set for an exciting 2025 season, beginning this week at Pebble Beach.
