Golf analyst Brandel Chamblee recently sparked debate by trolling Phil Mickelson’s elusive U.S. Open record. Despite Mickelson’s six major titles, Chamblee dismissed him from a fan-suggested list, claiming Mickelson was “never remotely close” to winning the event.

Chamblee’s harsh remark contradicts the fact that Mickelson finished tied for second at the 2013 U.S. Open—the same year he won The Open Championship. Mickelson also added a PGA Championship victory in 2021 and a T2 finish at the 2023 Masters.

In 2025, Mickelson has yet to win on the LIV Golf circuit but has delivered solid performances, including a third-place finish in Hong Kong. However, he missed the cut at the Masters, highlighting ongoing struggles in majors.
