Maverick McNealy may not yet be among golf’s greatest players, but he has already surpassed many of them in wealth. The 29-year-old American, who claimed his first PGA Tour victory at The RSM Classic last November, is the heir to a staggering $1 billion fortune. His father, Scott McNealy, co-founded Sun Microsystems, which Oracle acquired for $7.4 billion in 2010.

Despite his immense wealth, McNealy remains committed to golf, recently contending at the Genesis Invitational, where he narrowly lost to Ludvig Åberg. His net worth already eclipses that of Rory McIlroy and Jordan Spieth, who are worth a combined $290 million. Only Tiger Woods, valued at $1.1 billion, ranks ahead of him among the world’s wealthiest golfers.

McNealy insists his privileged background has not defined his work ethic. He credits his father’s philosophy, emphasizing financial independence and perseverance, for shaping his career. “I don’t judge my success by money but by effort and commitment,” he told *Golf Digest*. While he may not need prize money, his drive to succeed in the sport remains unwavering.
