Michael Kim has thrown his support behind Daniel Berger and Jordan Spieth as top contenders for Team USA at the 2025 Ryder Cup. After a strong showing at the Cognizant Classic, where Kim finished tied for sixth, he expressed confidence in their selection for the prestigious event. Berger finished T25 at 11 under par, while Spieth secured a T9 finish at 14 under, reinforcing their credentials as elite American golfers.

Despite Spieth’s past Ryder Cup experience, he faces stiff competition from stars like Scottie Scheffler and Xander Schauffele. He currently sits outside the top 25 in Ryder Cup points, making his selection uncertain. Berger, ranked 19th, also remains a longshot, as only six automatic qualifiers secure spots. However, Kim’s belief in their performances suggests they could earn captain’s picks for the tournament at Bethpage Black.

Kim also weighed in on the overseed controversy at PGA National after Jake Knapp’s near-record-breaking round of 59. He noted that the ryegrass overseed made chipping easier, altering the course’s usual challenges. While acknowledging his strong performance, Kim suggested that course conditions might not be as favorable in the future, adding another layer of intrigue for upcoming events.
