The Valero Texas Open presents a crucial opportunity for several top golfers to secure their spot in the 2025 Masters. With just a week until the prestigious tournament at Augusta National, a victory at TPC San Antonio’s Oaks Course remains the final chance for players outside the qualification bracket to earn an invite. Among them are five notable golfers who must deliver a winning performance to make the cut.

Rickie Fowler, a former Masters regular, is in dire need of a victory to re-enter the field after missing three of the last four editions. Currently ranked 110th in the OWGR, Fowler faces a must-win scenario to secure his 12th Masters appearance. Meanwhile, Ben Griffin, who narrowly missed qualifying at the Houston Open, and Gary Woodland, whose major exemption from his 2019 U.S. Open win has expired, both find themselves in critical positions requiring a win to advance.

Rounding out the list, Eric Cole and Padraig Harrington also face uphill battles to claim a Masters spot. Cole, having slipped to 60th in the rankings despite recent strong performances, needs a breakthrough victory. Harrington, playing on a sponsor’s invite, must win outright to return to Augusta for the first time since 2022. With high stakes at TPC San Antonio, these five golfers have everything to play for in their bid for Masters glo
