Lindsey Vonn is determined to compete in this weekend’s World Cup races at Cortina d’Ampezzo, Italy, despite a crash during Thursday’s downhill training run.

Reflecting on the incident, the 40-year-old skiing legend expressed confidence in her recovery, describing herself as “sore but ready” for the upcoming events. Vonn has a strong history on the Olympia delle Tofane course, with 12 previous victories.

Currently adjusting to her equipment after returning to competitive skiing in November, Vonn placed 40th in Friday’s training.

While acknowledging the challenges of her comeback, she remains optimistic about enjoying her time on the slopes.

“This is only my fourth race back,” Vonn remarked, emphasizing her focus on skiing well and savoring the moment.
