After six years of retirement, Lindsey Vonn made an extraordinary return to competitive skiing, securing sixth place in the downhill at Beaver Creek.

Despite being 32nd to start, Vonn overcame a deteriorated course, finishing just 0.58 seconds behind the winner, Federica Brignone.

At 40, she became the oldest woman to finish in the top 30 of a World Cup race, reigniting hopes for her fifth Olympics in Milan Cortina 2026.
