Jordan Spieth has been candid about his journey to recovery following wrist surgery in August 2024. Reflecting on his initial return to golf, Spieth likened his swing to “wet concrete,” describing the stiffness and challenges he faced after a 12-week hiatus. The three-time major champion has since worked on refining his swing to avoid the wrist issues that plagued him for years.

Spieth attributes his struggles to long-standing habits that may have contributed to his injuries. His August surgery addressed a tendon issue that caused significant discomfort. While he avoids calling his adjustments “swing changes,” Spieth views them as a reset to the fundamentals that defined his success early in his career.

The 31-year-old is set to make his competitive return at the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am on Jan. 30. With a focus on regaining consistency, Spieth aims to reestablish himself among the world’s top golfers. “I want to feel like one of the best every time I step on the tee,” he said, signaling his drive to reclaim his elite status.
