Jordan Spieth opened up about a lesser-known challenge at Augusta National during the 2025 Masters—mud balls. He revealed his frustration, noting it’s an issue players aren’t supposed to publicly discuss, despite its real impact on scoring.

In a post-round press conference, Spieth candidly shared that although conditions had slightly improved, mud balls still affected multiple shots. He emphasized how this recurring issue can be a game-changer, especially in high-stakes tournaments like the Masters.

The 2015 Masters champion finished tied for 14th with a final score of -3. After slow starts with back-to-back rounds of 73, Spieth rebounded impressively with a clean 69 in round three and a strong final round.

Returning from recent wrist surgery, Spieth’s performance hinted at a steady comeback. While not in contention for the win, his form at Augusta suggested he’s regaining confidence and building momentum for the rest of the season.
