The Indian Wells tournament has heightened security measures for Emma Raducanu following a stalking incident in Dubai. Organizers have assigned five additional security personnel to ensure her safety during the event, recognizing the impact of the distressing encounter on the 22-year-old tennis star.

Raducanu’s unsettling experience occurred during her second-round match against Karolina Muchova when she sought refuge under the umpire’s chair. Her team reported that the stalker had followed her across multiple cities before approaching her in Dubai. This alarming situation prompted Indian Wells officials to bolster her security.

To further ensure her protection, security will be overseen by former Secret Service agent Bob Campbell, who previously served during Bill Clinton’s presidency. As Raducanu prepares for the tournament, which begins on March 5, the enhanced measures aim to provide her with a secure environment to focus on her game.
