Max Homa delivered a memorable performance in the second round of the 2025 PGA Championship, firing a personal-best 7-under 64. Despite that high point, he finished T-60 overall—leaving the tournament with more frustration than celebration.

Homa’s disappointment stemmed from a deeper emotional disconnect. Speaking candidly, he questioned the purpose of his efforts, expressing doubts about his future drive. “I’m not really sure what’s the point,” he said, highlighting the mental toll of professional golf.

Still, his performance at Quail Hollow offered glimpses of brilliance. The highlight: a birdie-eagle-birdie run on holes 13 to 15, capped by a 49-foot birdie putt on 18. It reminded fans of his 2019 win there.

While heartbroken, Homa remains hopeful. He acknowledged the pain of underperformance but believes time will rekindle his competitive spirit. His round 2 excellence may not have led to a trophy, but it reaffirmed his place among elite golfers.
