Former World No. 1 Jason Day revealed that LIV Golf unintentionally provided him with an “easy out” when they declined to offer him a contract. Despite initial discussions initiated by his agent, the Saudi-backed league opted against signing him due to his injury history. Day admitted he never seriously considered joining LIV Golf and was relieved he didn’t have to make that decision.

Day, who has battled chronic injuries, shared his thoughts on the *Beyond the Clubhouse* podcast. He acknowledged that had LIV Golf offered a substantial contract, he might have felt conflicted. However, their decision reaffirmed his commitment to the PGA Tour, where he has found both fulfillment and purpose. He emphasized that chasing money was never his priority, and he remained content competing on the traditional circuit.

The Australian golfer’s perseverance paid off when he ended a five-year title drought at the 2023 Byron Nelson. Recently, he participated in the Genesis Invitational, finishing T50 with a total score of six-over. Despite his setbacks, Day continues to focus on his career, staying dedicated to the PGA Tour and its competitive spirit.
