As the LPGA celebrates its 75th anniversary, it revisits its storied beginnings at the 1950 Tampa Open, where amateur Polly Riley secured a historic victory.

Competing against icons like Babe Zaharias and Louise Suggs, Riley triumphed on a 6,093-yard course with rounds of 72-74-73-76.

This event marked the start of a tour built on the determination and talent of its 13 trailblazing founders.

Since its inception, the LPGA has evolved into a global showcase of excellence, honoring its roots while embracing a dynamic future.

The upcoming diamond anniversary celebration at Palma Ceia Golf and Country Club will pay tribute to the tour’s legacy and promise.

With milestones like Riley’s victory and Zaharias’ eight-title season, the LPGA remains a beacon of resilience and inspiration.
