Justin Thomas celebrated a long-awaited return to form by winning the RBC Heritage, ending a three-year title drought. However, his victory came at the cost of Andrew Novak’s first PGA Tour win, prompting mixed emotions despite the \$3.6 million prize.

Speaking candidly on the *Pardon My Take* podcast, Thomas revealed unease about potentially becoming a locker room target—much like Jordan Spieth once was. Spieth had been ribbed for denying veteran Tom Gillis a career-defining win in 2015.

Gillis, who was 46 at the time, lost to Spieth in a play-off at the John Deere Classic. Fellow pros, especially Jason Dufner, jokingly blamed Spieth for costing Gillis a life-changing opportunity and derailing a rare late-career breakthrough.

With Novak narrowly missing his own breakthrough at Harbour Town, Thomas now braces for similar jabs. He hopes to avoid becoming the next “career spoiler” among PGA Tour players, even as he basks in a hard-earned return to the winner’s circle.
