Jordan Spieth has made a late entry into the Cognizant Classic as he continues his comeback from a wrist injury. The three-time major champion, who underwent wrist surgery last year, is looking to build on his recent performances after a mixed start to the season. He finished tied for fourth at the WM Phoenix Open but struggled at the Genesis Invitational, missing the cut.

Despite ongoing wrist discomfort, Spieth is determined to improve his ranking and secure a spot in the PGA Tour’s upcoming signature event. His late commitment to the Cognizant Classic has pushed Karl Vilips, a promising young Australian golfer and Tiger Woods’ Sun Day Red ambassador, out of the field. Vilips, now the first alternate, must wait for a withdrawal to participate.

Currently ranked No. 67 in the Official World Golf Ranking, Spieth needs a strong showing at PGA National to qualify for the Arnold Palmer Invitational. Having missed automatic qualification, he must rely on the Aon Swing 5 or Next 10 rankings to secure his place. A solid performance could help him regain form and reestablish himself among golf’s elite.
