Emma Raducanu has spoken out about a terrifying stalking incident that left her in tears during the Dubai Tennis Championships. The British tennis star was targeted by the same individual at four different tournaments, with the situation escalating in Dubai. During her second-round match against Karolina Muchova, the umpire briefly halted play as Raducanu sought safety behind the chair, prompting the WTA to intervene.

The man exhibited “fixated behavior,” a term used to describe obsessive and unwanted attention, and was removed from the stands by security. He had previously approached Raducanu, given her a letter, and taken photos of her. Although Dubai police detained him, Raducanu chose not to press charges. Instead, he signed an official agreement to stay away from her, and the WTA issued a ban preventing him from attending future events.

Speaking about the ordeal, Raducanu revealed the man had told her he was following her everywhere and had been watching her in a coffee shop. She admitted that seeing him in the stands left her struggling to focus, saying, “I literally couldn’t see the ball through tears—I could barely breathe.” Despite the distressing experience, she remains focused on her career and is set to compete in the Indian Wells tournament.
