Jordan Spieth, a three-time major champion and former world number one, is on track to return for the 2025 PGA Tour season after undergoing successful wrist surgery. The 31-year-old struggled to find consistency in his 2024 campaign, despite a promising start with a third-place finish at The Sentry and a tie for sixth at the WM Phoenix Open.

However, a series of missed cuts, including at the Masters, and his absence from the BMW and Tour Championships marked a challenging year for the American golfer. Spieth, who last competed at the FedEx St. Jude Classic, now has his sights set on a January comeback, stating, “By Jan. 1, it’s my goal to be tournament-ready and playing at my ceiling.”

The surgery, driven by both professional and personal reasons, aimed to address recurring wrist dislocations that disrupted Spieth’s performance and daily life. He revealed the toll the injury took, sharing how it interfered with simple tasks, like bathing his daughter or putting on clothes.

While Spieth won’t compete in the 2025 season-opening tournament, he is expected to make his return at the Sony Open in Hawaii. With 13 PGA Tour victories, including his last win at the 2022 RBC Heritage, Spieth hopes the surgery will reinvigorate his career and restore his competitive edge on the course.
