Matildas star Sam Kerr was recently spotted enjoying downtime in Sydney with family after returning home to support Australia’s women’s team in a non-playing capacity.
The Chelsea forward is currently recovering from an ACL injury sustained in January 2024.

While out, Kerr wore a black T-shirt reading “Everyone watches women’s sports,” designed by Togethxr. The shirt is a pointed statement supporting gender equality in sports and challenges outdated views on the relevance and appeal of women’s athletic competitions.

Togethxr, the brand behind the shirt, is partnered with Nike to promote equal representation in sport. Their campaign aims to increase media coverage for female athletes, who currently receive only a fraction of the attention given to men’s sports.

Kerr remains committed to her leadership role with the Matildas, despite a recent court case. Backed by teammates and Football Australia, she expressed regret and reaffirmed her dedication to personal growth and inspiring the next generation of athletes.
