Justin Thomas can finally relax after Andrew Novak captured his first PGA Tour title at the Zurich Classic, sharing the $1.3 million prize with partner Ben Griffin. The win eased Thomas’ concerns following his narrow RBC Heritage victory over Novak.
Thomas had jokingly recalled how Jordan Spieth once “ruined” Tom Gillis’ career by denying him a win, drawing parallels to his own playoff triumph over Novak. He expressed hope that Novak’s talent would soon be rewarded—and it was.
Novak credited his positive mindset for the breakthrough. Paired with longtime friend Griffin, the duo edged out the Hojgaard twins, while Rory McIlroy and Shane Lowry settled for a tie for 12th.
