Lindsey Vonn Dazzles in Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Edition for the Third Time

Retired ski legend Lindsey Vonn has once again graced the pages of Sports Illustrated’s Swimsuit Edition, posing for the 2019 issue on the scenic beaches of Puerto Vallarta, Mexico.

This marks her third appearance in the iconic publication, having previously been featured in the 2010 and 2016 editions. Known for her fearless attitude both on and off the slopes, Vonn continues to captivate audiences even in retirement, effortlessly combining athleticism with glamour.

In her past appearances, Vonn made bold fashion choices, donning a striped red-and-white bikini against the snowy Canadian mountains in 2010. She took things a step further in 2016, posing in nothing but body paint on the sandy shores of Petit St. Vincent in the Grenadine Islands.

Now, at 40, she stuns once more, embracing her post-skiing life with confidence and elegance. Joining her in the 2025 edition is UFC fighter Paige VanZant, who becomes only the second female MMA athlete to be featured, following in the footsteps of Ronda Rousey.

Vonn, who officially retired in February 2019, leaves behind an extraordinary legacy as the most successful female skier in history. With 82 World Cup victories to her name, she also claimed Olympic gold in the downhill event at the 2010 Winter Games and won two World Championship titles.

Her final race at the Alpine World Ski Championships in Sweden ended on a high note, as she secured a bronze medal in the downhill event, a fitting conclusion to her decorated career.

Reflecting on her retirement, Vonn expressed gratitude for her journey, acknowledging the physical toll that years of professional skiing had taken on her body. A serious knee injury in November 2018 ultimately confirmed that it was time to step away.

“I knew this season would be my last, but after my crash, everything changed,” she shared. “I can no longer ski the way I want to, and my knees just can’t handle the demands of racing anymore.” Despite stepping away from competition, Vonn’s influence remains strong, as she continues to inspire both in the sports world and beyond.
