Jordan Spieth delivered a strong opening round at the 2025 Valero Texas Open, carding a 67. The performance marked his 10th round in the 60s this season, signaling continued progress following wrist surgery in 2024.

Despite a bogey on the first hole, Spieth rebounded with six birdies and a near-flawless finish. His putter was especially sharp, sinking long-range birdies on the 5th, 12th, and 15th holes to boost his momentum.

Spieth ended the round tied for fourth, just four shots behind the leader. With improved approach play and putting, he appears to be rounding into form ahead of next week’s major.
