Emma Raducanu has started a trial period with Slovakian coach Vladimir Platenik ahead of her return to Indian Wells. This follows the departure of her previous coach, Nick Cavaday, who stepped down due to health reasons after the Australian Open in January.

Platenik, who has previously coached top players like Dominika Cibulkova and Daria Kasatkina, will support Raducanu in her first-round match against Japan’s Moyuka Uchijima at the BNP Paribas Open. If successful, she will face third seed Coco Gauff in the next round.

The 2021 US Open champion has struggled since Cavaday’s exit, securing only one victory against Maria Sakkari in Dubai. She is now aiming to rebuild momentum, competing for the first time since dealing with a distressing stalker incident at the Dubai Open last month.
